Lilian calls on Beauvale Road

Lilian and helpers canvassed the street and held discussions with around 30 households.
“Parliament is in recess so I had chance to get out and about in the Old Meadows with  @MeadowsCllrMike,  Cllr Eunice Regan and volunteer Steph Williams, asking residents what we could do to help and discussing the upcoming elections on 2nd May. Always happy to be joined by Koda!”

The most serious matter of anti-social behaviour is already the subject of a court case.
Another house that has been posing problems – not so much since the Police made an arrest.
One household in particular are leaving their bins out and tipping in front of their own house – action continues.

Some tipping still taking place in alleyways despite action taken a year ago after we last canvassed the street, and the lock of one alleyway gate has been damaged – and the overall challenge here is that the alleyways and gates are the responsibility of owners to fix – and unlike flats that share a building, there is no joint company to manage them on behalf of the property owners.

Biggest other concerns are:
–  shortage of on-street parking places for residents; and that is before the agreed plan to impose permits for Mundella Road and Mundella Court are introduced;  there may well be consultation on introducing RINGGO and permits along Robin Hood Way;
– litter along the street; which was better on the day, but has suffered recently, as well as streets such as Glapton Road; Wilford Crescent West (both) is still a mess; (animal mess was not raised.

  1. Do you have the residents permission to introduce parking permits? I thought there was a problem with a business on Mundella Road? The proposed development on Arkwright St. is not going to help with parking management. 20 car parking spaces for a building of that size hardly helps. However I see that there are going to be thousands of parking spaces for bicycles. What are you trying to say?
