Meadows Neighbourhood Action Team – March 2024

List of main points reviewed at a progress meeting between officers from council services and public agencies.

Crime:
– ASB problem within Castleview Meadows;
Multi-agency:
— Henry Court;
Tipping:
– injunction awarded by the courts against property in Hatley Close;
– final clear up of Bosworth car park;
– former Env. Agency building between Quay Close and canal;
Street Scene:
2 members of staff in particular are having quite an impact;
Wilford Grove looked better this week;
– flagged up Arkwright Walk path between pub and welcome to Meadows story pole;
– poor bin management at Masson House has been acted on once but has re-occurred; 
still not sure we have a dog fouling situation; 
Graffiti:
– northern side of RHW underpass;
Potholes:
– quite a spate developed over the winter;
have to get into the habit of directly inputting into Council via website
TROs:
– need New Meadows home zones and Mundella progressing when officer capacity arrives in April;
– need to start a scheme for Arkwright Walk;
– possible RINGGO / residential for RHW consultation;
Selective Licensing:
– HMO query on a house registered as a normal home; 
Fire risks queries:
– St Georges Priory, Launder Street;
– what caused Doncaster Terrace sub-station fire?
Housing:
– misc. o/s queries from Kirkewhite Court;
– welcome new residents on Crocus Street and Quay Close; and
– planning decisions at committee in March and April;
Parks and Open Spaces:
– long list of issues and poss. projects collected and to be published in one spreadsheet;
– bowling club set to formally close on 6th April;
Community Tensions:
– still no sense of any Israel / Gaza fallout in The Meadows such has been formally reported from across the country.
