24 kids who read 6 or more books over the summer holidays at Central Library on Angel Row to receive medals.

Kids and parents were from across the conurbation.
The Summer Reading Challenge is a national reading scheme for children run by libraries over the summer holiday. It is free to take part. The children have the opportunity to gain a medal and certificate in recognition of their reading throughout the summer holidays.
In 2013 More than 4,000 children started the Summer Reading Challenge in Nottingham and 14,884 books were read by the children who participated.
I was handing out the medals at Nottingham Central Library, with the kids climbing onto a table / podium for that true medal ceremony experience, and then waving at Mum and Dad whilst they had their picture taken.
