Central Library summer reading challenge 2018

Version 2Kids from The Park estate and wider, including Arnold and Carlton, came to receive their medals for reading six or more books during the Summer holiday weeks.
One lad had read  25, explaining how he loved books.  Another wore his favourite Dennis the Menace gear.
One child having turned up late, prompted me to ask if anyone else wanted a medal.
A 32 year old Mum put her hand up, and I called her bluff.  Pictured, right, with her medal and a soft toy moose.

At this ceremony, none of the librarians and literacy volunteers could think of a mischievous thing they’d done this Summer.

Currently, we are consulting over building a new central library in Broadmarsh.
