Five Leaves Bookshop stepped in where national booksellers feared to tread by supporting “World Book Day” as kids with vouchers came to buy their first book. Classes from local schools then went on to visit Nottingham Central Library.
Almost all involved in supporting the initiative had to contribute. Too much it seems for Waterstones and W.H.Smiths.
“World Book Day” is held on Shakespeare’s birthday, but not in the U.K., where we of course know that Shakespeare is the last thing to start kids with, unless they have a Brummie accent.
