The Childhood of a Leader

A 1919 world deprived of red, orange and bright; whose primary colours are gloom, worn out and flaking.  A movie that only uses 10% of the screen in the first five minutes.  A plot that comes crashing in at 5 m.p.h. and stays there for over 2 hours.
Not sure the story conveys much other than a reminder that Hitler had problems (that song was right) – unless you’re a trained psychologist, yet I don’t want to condemn it, even though I left the cinema short of breath and with a mild headspin.
The Childhood of a Leader is a distinctive and special experience.
