Some high level Bridge ward points

A. The Green.
Plenty of support for play equipment on doorstep and bid has gone in.
There will be another stage when we focus on the detail of the design, including its precise location.  Probably September.

B. Holgate Road education centre.
Goes to Planning committee this month, because of the large number of people interested.
Officers recommendation is refusal.

C.Traffic Street
Apartments proposed for current empty plot and being considered at Planning committee.

D. Unity Square
Very interesting proposal to replace car park and mixed use buildings at top of Sheriffs Way.
The developer’s aim is a landmark building, which is big.

E. Castle Heritage Conservation Management Plan.
Also being considered at planning committee.

F. Victoria Embankment issues
Lighting works started; permits for 1st July.
Exploring enhancements before next big bid for new football pitch with new pavilion; these include –
– repairs to football pavilion;
– hardstanding path between bandstand and memorial gardens;
– repair to Queen Victoria;
– repairs to carriageway at north end;
using s106.
Also exploring mini cycling road network.

G. Victoria Embankment events.
Have received thanks to officers for new arrangements that require PA systems to point away from residential areas during events.
Will explore entrance and egress to and from park for future events to be from the VE carriageway only.  Note, NG2 2GJ is the postcode for the pavilion.
Planning for some car-free Sundays.

H. Police panel.
Have joined the cttee. which meets at County Hall and expressed concern that sharing of info. needs to improve – worried that Police management have too much to do.
