Congratulations to Pat Thomas, community activist in The Meadows, who was awarded national volunteer of the year.
Pat drove the project to have statues carved out of some of the tree trunks from the felling of lime trees that made way for the expansion of the Nottingham tram.
The Meadows now has more outdoor free-standing art than the city centre.
I turned up at the end of the event organised to promote partnerships working for better parks and open spaces late. Plenty of news, including about Open Spaces who were at the event, and are working with Nottingham city WI to improve the rest gardens of Barker Gate.
